The head of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) Mustafa Abdul Jalil met Wednesday in Benghazi with Morocco's Foreign Minister Taib Fassi Fihri, the first Arabic foreign minister that visited the rebel stronghold since the Libyan uprising.
Taib Fassi Fihri confirmed during their meeting Morocco's recognition of NTC as the sole and legitimate representative of Libyan people and carrier of its aspirations for a better future based on equity, justice, democracy and the rule of law.
"I will attend the Libya contact group meeting tomorrow in Istanbul and will support the NTC in all aspects including political and military," said the foreign minister, claiming he brought to the council a message from Morocco's King Mohammed VI which he did not expound.
Libya contact group will convene in Turkish city Istanbul on political directors level on Thursday.
Jalil confirmed that the NTC has sent a delegation to Tripoli, making preparation for the NTC to move to Tripoli.
The NTC will serve as a transitional government, he said, adding that he hopes new Libya could be neutral and democratic.
