Source: Libyan embassy will work as normal

Two unnamed Libyan consulate officials in Beijing said Tuesday the embassy will work to maintain normal operations during the power transition in Libya.

Answering reporters gathered in front of the embassy, two Libyan officials who refused to give their names said the embassy will continue to try to provide travel documents and other related services.
"(The visa application process) should be all right," one of the officials said. He said if any problems do occur, they would not be due to the workings of the embassy itself.
The officials also said Ambassador Mustafa M. Elguelushi remains head of the mission, although they would not confirm whether he currently resides within the embassy grounds.
The embassy lowered the green Libyan flag late Monday after opposition forces took control of the nation's capital, Tripoli. The flag adopted by the National Transitional Council – red, black and green with white crescent and star at the center – now flies in the courtyard in front of the embassy's main building.
In response to Libya's transition of power, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced Monday that China "respects Libyan people's choice."
