Libyan opposition members took down the official Libyan state flag at the Libyan Embassy in the Turkish capital of Ankara and raised the National Transitional Council (NTC) flag on Monday, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.

The crescent and star emblazoned red-black-green flag that became a rallying symbol for the rebels in Libya was raised at the embassy in Ankara on Monday, according to the report.

Libyan rebel forces captured Tripoli on Sunday with unexpected speed and minor resistance.

Libyan diplomats who supported rebels in the embassy in Ankara, gathered in the garden and burned posters of Muammar Gaddafi. Meanwhile, Libyan Ambassador to Turkey Ziyad Adham al-Muntasar was prevented by the opposition members from talking to the press.
