A new 6.2-magnitude aftershock hit central Chile late Sunday, the latest after a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake early Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The temblor was centered about 109 km northeast of the city of Talca and struck at a depth of 35 km, the USGS said on its website.
A number of strong aftershocks have occurred after Saturday's large quake, which has killed at least 708 people and left hundreds of others missing.
