Visiting Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met in Washington on Tuesday with U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta.

Prior to their meeting, Panetta hosted a welcoming ceremony in front of the Pentagon in honor of Xi.
Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also attended the meeting.
