Vice Foreign Minister, Cui Tiankai, says dialogue and cooperation between China and the US are important in resolving problems and different views in bilateral ties.

Cui was speaking at the Second Lanting, or Blue Hall, Forum held at the Foreign Ministry Building in Beijing. He says the most important and sensitive issue to Sino-US ties is the handling of the Taiwan issue, which concerns core interests crucial to China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He stresses that appropriate handling of the issue will help the smooth development of bilateral ties.
