Nigeria's government forces captured nine suspected collaborators of terror group Boko Haram on Tuesday, bringing the number of people so far nabbed in the same action to 30 in the past two days, the Nigerian Army said.

In a statement signed by army spokesperson Sani Usman, the Nigerian army said the earlier arrest of 21 people who gave aids to Boko Haram elements led to the latest arrest.

Those captured include two army officers, two policemen and 26 civilians, according to the statement.

It described the suspects as "unpatriotic elements" whose acts could jeopardize the collective efforts of clearing the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists.

"Many more suspects would be arrested and prosecuted based on evidences against them and level of culpability," the army statement added.

The Nigerian government has launched several military operations over the past months to eliminate the terror group, which emerged in northeast Nigeria's Borno region.
