Syria's Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said Tuesday that his country is ready to reveal the sites of its chemical weapons storages to representatives of Russia and the United Nations, according to the pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV.

Al-Moallem made the remakes in Moscow exclusively to al-Mayadeen, in which he stressed his country's readiness to "completely cooperate" with Moscow to implement the latest Russian initiative to place Syria's chemical weapons under international supervision in exchange for sparing Syria a military strike by Washington.

"Our commitment to the Russian initiative aims to end the possession of all the chemical weapons," al-Moallem told the TV, adding that his country has an intention to join the treaty of Non-Proliferation of Chemical Weapons.

On Monday, Russia proposed a fresh initiative on Syrian crisis, stimulating to secure the chemical stockpiles of the Damascus government under international observation.

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem soon welcomes the Russian proposition.

Analysts say the move could be a first step toward a political solution to Syria's long-time crisis.
