Clashes erupted Thursday in the vicinity of a military intelligence branch in Syria's central province of Homs between government troops and armed rebels trying to storm the building, pro-government al-Khabar TV said.
The fighting erupted at the Palmyra branch of the military intelligence, which was targeted Wednesday by two car bombs that left an unknown number of casualties.
Meanwhile, the al-Khabar TV said that many members of the military intelligence in Palmyra were ambushed on the Homs-Furqlus highway.
The TV placed the initial death at 35. No official statement has been published.
Syria has been engulfed in a bloody conflict between opposition forces and government troops since March 2011. It has so far claimed 60,000 lives, according to UN estimates.
