Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) said in a press conference Monday that they will deliver the power to the elected president by the end of this month, official news agency MENA reported.
"We will deliver the power by the end of June to the elected president in a great celebration which will be witnessed by the whole world," said Mohamed al-Assar, a member of the SCAF.
Al-Assar also said the newly elected president will be granted complete authorities, and all the Egyptians will witness the moment of power delivering to the presidency winner, whose name will be announced by the Higher Presidential Election Commission on Thursday.
The SCAF issued a supplementary constitutional declaration on Sunday night to retake legislative powers after the parliament was dissolved several days ago.
The ruling military council took over power in February 2011, after Hosni Mubarak was forced to resign under pressure of 18 days of mass protests against his 29-year rule.
