Uzbek President Islam Karimov arrived in Beijing on Tuesday evening to visit China and attend the Beijing summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

At the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, Karimov comes to attend the 12th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the SCO from June 6 to 7. He is also scheduled to meet with Chinese leaders on bilateral ties and other issues of common concern.
