French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe on Sunday accused Syria of being behind Lebanon attack which wounded five French peacekeepers.
In an interview with the government-run TV5 channel, French top diplomat said France has "strong reasons to think that the attack was from Syria."
"There is no doubt that the attack was a message from Syria to France which mobilized international community to impose sanctions against (Bashar) al-Assad regime," Juppe said.
Last Friday, a bomb exploded near a peacekeeping patrol of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and hit the jeep carrying the French peacekeepers in the southern coastal town of Tyre.
Five French soldiers and a Lebanese civilian were wounded in the powerful explosion.
