The head of Egypt's ruling military council Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi will address the nation Tuesday following days of deadly clashes between protestors and riot police in Cairo and other cities, state television reported.

The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces has started crisis talks with related political parties after the caretaker government headed by Primed Minister Essam Sharaf tendered resignation Monday, the report said.

The council has asked the justice ministry to investigate the violence which has raged on for four days and left dozens of people dead and more than 1,000 people injured.

The council is reportedly approaching Mohamed ElBaradei, former head of the United Nations' nuclear watchdog IAEA, for the prime minister's position.

Protestors have called for a "Million Men March" Tuesday.
