At least 147 people have been killed as of Friday noon in a flash flood that occurred in Pakkoku, central Myanmar's Magway region, over the last two days, the local Eleven Media Group said in its website Friday.
The severe flood was triggered by Wednesday's day-long torrential rainfall through to Thursday.
Another local media, the 7-Day News, also said in its website that six relief camps have been set up to accommodate 1,500 flood victims.
The collapse of the Shwe Chaung Bridge made the flash flood sweep away some houses and monasteries along a river bank as the water rose up as high as three meters.
At least six wards in Sinphyukyun in Magway region were flooded and a road section approaching a bridge in the area was damaged.
