Police shooting causes casualties in The Hague

A man wielding knife in downtown The Hague was injured by police shooting to stop the violence on Thursday night, and a bystander was also wounded, local police told Xinhua.

According to the police, a man threatened people with a knife in the middle of the Grote Markt (grand market), a square in downtown The Hague, and officers felt compelled to shoot.

The man was arrested after being injured, and a bystander was also hit in the leg.

"The investigation will be continued, and the motivation of the suspect is still unknown," said a policeman.
