The toll from the powerful earthquake in the northeast Indian state of Sikkim has risen to at least 26 while hundreds were reportedly injured, according to local media reports Monday.
At least 18 were confirmed killed in the earthquake in Sikkim, while six were reported killed in the neighboring state of West Bengal, according to the Indo-Asian News Service.
Two were killed in the eastern state of Bihar when the 6.8 magnitude earthquake shook many parts of northern and eastern India Sunday evening, according to local TV reports.
The number of those injured in the earthquake crossed 200 in Sikkim and over 100 in West Bengal, according to the reports.
