A labor leader of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the outskirts of northwestern city of Peshawar on Thursday evening, police said.
Saad Kamal Shah, President of the People's Unity in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and his fellow were shot dead on Bara Road.
According to police, Saad Kamal Shah and his friend were returning home in a car after ending duty at PIA office in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
When Saad Kamaal's car reached to the Bara Road area, unidentified armed attackers opened fire on them. They died at the scene. The gunmen escaped after the incident.
No group claimed responsibility for the incident. Police said they were investigating motives behind the murder.
This is the second murder of a leader of the ruling party this month.
Gunmen had killed leader of Peoples Unity, Amir Shah, in Karachi on July 16.
