Ten people were killed and 24 others were injured when a bicycle bomb went off in Kunduz province 250 km north of capital city of Kabul on Friday evening, the interior ministry confirmed on Saturday.
"A bomb placed in a bicycle was detonated by a remote control device late on Friday in Khan Abad district of northern Kunduz province. As a result 10 people including a teenage girl and a policeman were killed," said a statement issued by interior ministry here on Saturday.
According to the statement, a total of 24 others including five women and a police officer were also wounded in the blast.
The statement blamed Taliban for attack but the insurgent group has yet to make comment.
The Taliban-led insurgency has been rampant since the militant group announced to launch spring offensive from May 1 against Afghan and NATO-led troops stationed in Afghanistan.
