A bomb threat Sunday briefly locked down the Ronald Reagan National Airport near U.S. capital Washington D.C.. But authorities later said nothing hazardous was found.
The airport was briefly shut down for up to 20 minutes while U. S. Airways flight 2596 from Dayton, Ohio, landed and was diverted to an isolated area, Courtney Mickalonis, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority was quoted by local media as saying.
Investigators interviewed the 44 passengers on board, and bomb experts swept the plane, but nothing was found. The plane landed at about 1 p.m..
A person made a bomb threat involving the plane at the ticket counter in Dayton, while the plane was in the air near Washington, according to the FBI. The person is now in custody.
