5.3-magnitude earthquake hits S. Iran

A strong earthquake measuring 5.3 on Richter scale jolted Kahnouj in mid-south province of Kerman on Wednesday morning., the official IRNA news agency reported.
Seismography center of Tehran University Geophysics Institute said the tremor occurred at 05:35 local time (0105 GMT) and its epicenter was at 27.78 degrees latitude and 57.77 degrees longitude.
There is no immediate report on possible casualties or damage, said IRNA.
