Chinese President Hu Jintao met Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayeva in Astana Tuesday, one day before the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The two leaders are expected to exchange views on the development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations, and expand practical cooperation between the two countries.
China-Kyrgyzstan relations have developed continuously since the two countries established diplomatic ties 19 years ago, with stronger political mutual trust and closer practical cooperation in various sectors.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the SCO's founding. The Astana summit will review its achievements in the past decade and formulate plans for future development.
Founded on June 15, 2001, the SCO groups China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
