The Philippine government advised Filipino Muslims not to consider the slain al-Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden as a hero.
"His (Bin Laden's) terrorism affects our country as well and the entire globe," Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said in Friday's briefing.
Lacierda made this comment after learning that some Filipino Muslim protested near the U.S. embassy in the country's capital to condemn the killing of Bin Laden.
He said that Bin Laden committed atrocities and it was only justified that he be held responsible for what he did.
"So our request to our Muslim brothers, look at the consequences of terrorism and not just because Osama is a Muslim," Lacierda added.
U.S. forces killed Osama Bin Laden in a raid on his hideout in Pakistan on Monday.
