Greek senior official visits China

Greek Minister of State Haris Pampoukis is on official visit to China for talks with high-ranking government officials and business executives.

Pampoukis Monday held a fruitful talk in Beijing with Wei Jiafu, President and CEO of the China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO), and Fan Chunyong, President of the China Industrial Overseas Development and Planning Association.

"The discussion was extremely good," said Pampoukis following the meeting with Captain Wei. "The Greek Government supports the efforts and the investments of COSCO, which will contribute to the development of Greek economy and  turn Piraeus into a transshipment hub in Southeastern Europe”, the minister added.

On Tuesday he will meet with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Zhijun, President of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhang Ping, Vice Minister of Commerce Jiang Yaoping, and President of China Investment Corporation Lou Ziwei.

On Wednesday the Minister of State will meet with Fu Ying, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Huang Danhua, Vice President of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and Jiang Chaoliang, President of China Development Bank .

On Thursday Chinese vice Premier Li Keqiang will meet him in Beijing.

Those accompanying Pampoukis to China include Arthuros Zervos, President and CEO of the Public Power Corporation, Nicolaos Bardis, CEO of the Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company, and Pantelis Tzortzakis, Counselor of the Prime Minister on issues of technology, information technology and telecommunications. They will hold a talk with Chinese CEOs οn detailed business development plans.
