Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev Friday ruled out the possibility of earlier parliamentary elections in the country.
Elections of the lower house of parliament, or the Majilis, would be held as scheduled in 2012, Nazarbayev told a plenary session of the Majilis.
Presidential political adviser Yermukhamet Yertysbayev had said earlier Nazarbayev, after winning the April 3 presidential elections, could dissolve parliament to speed up political reforms.
Earlier Friday, Nazarbayev was sworn in as Kazakh president for the fourth time, and will serve another five-year term in Central Asia's largest country.
