Libya's leader Muammar Gaddafi has once again alleged involvement of foreigners in the rebellion against his nearly 42-year grip on power, Al-Jazeera TV reported Wednesday.
In an address on state TV in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Gaddafi warned of a plot to colonise Libya, noting his security forces had captured several foreigners during a raid on Monday.
"There is no choice for people of Benghazi but to go out on the streets, men, women and children to rid Benghazi of this betrayal, " Gaddafi said.
Gaddafi was addressing a group of youths from the town of Zintan, 75 miles (120 kilometers) southwest of Tripoli.
Forces loyal to the Libyan leader have been fighting rebels in the east as well as in a handful of towns close to the capital Tripoli, where he has total control.
