At least five people were injured in a bomb blast near the house of a senior police officer in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta on Saturday, police said.
Those injured are guards of the Superintendent Police Shaban Ali, who could be the possible target, said a police officer.
Ali, who was inside the house, was safe, officials said.
The bomb was attached to a pick-up car and was detonated when guards of the police officer arrived at his house.
The injured were transferred to the civil hospital Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province. The blast smashed windows of nearby buildings on Alamdar Road, residents said.
No group claimed responsibility for the attack. The authorities blame anti-government insurgents for such attacks.
