6.1-magnitude quake hits NW Pakistan

A moderate earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale Monday hit Pakistani capital Islamabad and northwestern and eastern parts of the country, the seismological department said.
There was no immediate report of damage or casualty.
The earthquake occurred at 7:50 a.m. (Pakistan time) and its epicenter was 200 kilometers from the northern city of Chitral in Tajikistan, according to the seismological officials.
The quake forced people to flee out of homes in panic and in some parts announcements were made in mosques, asking the people to go out of homes.
The tremors were felt in tribal regions, Peshawar, Swat valley and most parts of the northwestern Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province, officials and residents said.
