At least four persons have been injured on Wednesday evening when a bomb went off in a busy marketplace in Nepalgunj, a major western city of Nepal, which shares close border with India. The city is located some 450 kilometers west from the capital Kathmandu.
The blast took place nearby Gaurishankar Hardware shop in Shukhet road where proprietor of hardware, Kaushal Acharya, and the customers Dilli Raj Regmi, Shiva Raj Chalise and Ram Hari Chalise were injured, said the police.
Security personnel have been deployed in and around the blast site. None have claimed responsibility of the blast. The shops around the incident site have been closed and the locals are traumatized following the blast. They were still trying to figure out the motive and the type of explosives used at the time of filing the report. The police have not found even the pieces from the explosive used in the blast.
"It cannot be pressure cooker or socket bomb as there has been no use of wires. We need some time to find out the type of bomb used," Chief of Banke Police Mahesh Bikram Shah said.
