Continued Taliban-led militancy and conflicts in Afghanistan have claimed 93 people's lives including 61 Taliban insurgents, 11 civilians and 21 personnel of Afghan police over the past one week, spokesman of Interior Ministry Zamarai Bashari said here on Sunday.
"Some 90 terroristic incidents including roadside bombings and insurgent attacks and five suicide bomb blasts had been registered throughout the country over past one week,"Bashari told reporters in a regular press conference.
Providing details on the casualties, he said that 46 Afghan civilians, 55 Afghan National Police (ANP) personnel and 11 militants were also wounded over the period.
Majority of the incidents had occurred in southern Helmand and Kandahar, northern Kunduz and eastern Kunar provinces where Taliban militants are active, he said, adding "ANP have also detained 155 insurgents over the past seven days."
"Over 90 roadside bombings and Improvised Explosive Devices ( IEDs) had been found and defused by police in the past one week, Bashari said.
He also said that the interior ministry has suspended a general and fired another top police official for misconduct in a recent NATO raids in capital Kabul that left two security guards dead.
He said the NATO-led troops against the regulation conducted the operations, but did not provide details.
Two employees of a private company namely Tiger International, according to reports had been killed by NATO-led troops Friday night.
