An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale jolted Kyrgyzstan at 16:21 Beijing Time (08:21 GMT) Wednesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was monitored at 39.4 degrees north latitude and 72.7 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 8 kilometers, the center said.
The United States Geological Survey earlier said it was a 5.2-magnitude earthquake.
