At least one policeman was killed and six others were injured on Wednesday as a police vehicle was attacked by a remote-controlled bomb in southwest Pakistan's Balochistan province, local media reported.
According to local Urdu channel Aaj TV, the bomb blast occurred near a vehicle of Frontier Constabulary (FC), a paramilitary force, during its regular patrolling in the city of Qalat in Balochistan.
The intensity of the blast damaged the FC's vehicle completely, injuring all the security personnel in the vehicle.
Besides, one passerby was injured when the bomb planted roadside exploded by unknown miscreants. All the injured were rushed to the nearby hospital where one FC personal succumbed to injuries.
Police cordoned off the area and started a search operation in nearby residential area. No group or organization claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to media reports, more than six rebel militant groups, consisting of local Baloch population which demand their own rights, have been attacking the security officials and civil servants of the government for couple of years.
