The London Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) revealed its ticket pricing structure across the 26 sports of the Olympic Games on Friday with two thirds of these tickets priced at 50 pounds or under.
There will be 8.8 million tickets available for the Olympic Games, 75 percent of which will be on sale to the public from March 2011. The most expensive ticket will be up to 2,012 pounds in the opening ceremony and the athletics tickets lead the price list among the sports.
Ticket prices will be per session, the length of which will vary from sport to sport. There will be 649 separate ticketed sessions across the 26 sports during the Olympic Games.
According to the ticket pricing structure, 90 percent of these tickets will be priced at 100 pounds or under. Two thirds of these tickets will be priced at 50 pounds or under and 2.5 million tickets will be priced at 20 pounds or under.
All tickets for events in and around London include a travelcard.
Besides, a "pay your age" scheme will operate for over 200 Olympic Games sessions. This will see anyone who is 16 and under at the start of the Games pay their age - and anyone aged 60 and over pay 16 pounds. These sessions will be spread across all sports and all venues.
The full list of prices per sport is available on the London 2012 ticketing website. The highest price of a sport session comes from athletics as one ticket for a super final session could cost up to 725 pounds. The highly-demanded tickets for swimming and artistic gymnastics finals will be priced from 50 pounds to 450 pounds.
The tickets for the opening ceremony will be priced from 20.12 pounds to 2,012 pounds and the closing ceremony from 20.12 pounds to 1,500 pounds.
