Two civilians were killed and three others sustained injuries as a roadside bomb struck a car in the southern Zabul province on Wednesday, police said.
"The gruesome incident took place in Mizan district at around 10:00 a.m. local time today when a mine planted by militants struck a civilian car killing two travelers and injured three others," deputy to provincial police chief Ghulam Jilani Khan told Xinhua.
He blamed the Taliban militants for planting the mine on the road but the outfit has yet to make comment.
