The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will mint commemorative coins for the 65th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), the official KCNA news agency reported Saturday.
The commemorative coins - "65th Anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea" - will be minted in gold and silver under a decree promulgated by the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly.
In the center of the coins' front side are the party logo depicted against the background of Mount Paektu, the flag of the "Down With Imperialism Union" and sun rays.
Beneath them are letters "65th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea," "1945" and "2010." The emblem of the DPRK is depicted on the flip side. Each coin is framed with 65 leaves of laurel trees.
The WPK, the ruling party of the DPRK, was founded in Pyongyang on Oct. 10, 1945.
