Police commandos rescued a Chinese-Filipino businessman on Tuesday afternoon and arrested four abductors in the weekend in the southern Philippines, police officials said.

Chief Supt. Edwin Corvera, commander of the Police Regional Office 9, said that Vinton So, 47, was rescued around 3:30 p.m. in the village of Talon Talon in Zambonga City following a brief gun battle, adding that four of the victim's abductors were arrested in the weekend.

So was kidnapped from his junk shop on Sunday. Two of the suspects pretended as customers and took So at gunpoint. The kidnappers also took So's car as getaway vehicle and escaped along with the three other suspects posting as lookouts. The victim's vehicle was recovered late Sunday after the police flashed the alarm over the abduction.
