China was looking for deeper ties across the board with Belarus, Jiang Shusheng, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, said in Minsk Tuesday.
When meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Jiang said China cherished the developing relationship with Belarus and wanted to continue strengthening it for the benefit of both countries and their peoples.
The mutual political trust between China and Belarus had been increasingly strengthened, he said, adding the two countries had firmly supported each other on core issues, such as state sovereignty and territorial integrity.
With bilateral practical cooperation expanding, Jiang said the basis for bilateral ties had consolidated. Exchanges and cooperation on science, education and culture had also been boosted, he said.
Lukashenko strongly welcomed the Jiang-led delegation.
Belarus regarded China as one of its most reliable friends and strategic partners, said Lukashenko, who vowed it would always be his country's high priority to advance ties with China on foreign affairs.
Belarus was willing to reinforce comprehensive and friendly cooperation with China.
The Chinese delegation arrived in Minsk on Sunday from Russia.
