A huge explosion rocked central Baghdad on Sunday, killing at least one person and wounding three others, an Interior Ministry source said.
The blast occurred at a busy intersection in Bab al-Mu'adham area in downtown Baghdad at about 10:50 a.m. local time (0750 GMT), the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The toll could rise as ambulances and civilian cars were evacuating casualties to Baghdad hospitals, the source said.
Sporadic attacks are still common in Iraq as security conditions deteriorated recently, which shaped a setback to the efforts of the Iraqi government to restore normalcy in the country days after the U.S. military formally announced withdrawal of its combat troops from the war-torn country.
