Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, will visit China as a British special representative for international trade and investment from Sept. 2 to Sept. 11, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said in Beijing Thursday.
Prince Andrew will meet with senior Chinese government officials and entrepreneurs to discuss ways to expand bilateral trade, Jiang told a regular press briefing.
Jiang hailed the development of China-Britain trade and economic cooperation in recent years, adding that it has huge potential and a bright future.
"This visit will help Britain better understand China's trade and investment policies and its business environment," Jiang said.
As guest of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, Prince Andrew will also visit China's economic hub, Shanghai. He will also attend the National Pavilion Day of Britain at the World Expo.
