Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro said in Havana on Thursday that he had never been "anti Jewish" and hated both Nazism and Fascism.
He made the remarks while discussing an article by prominent Jewish American journalist Jeffrey Goldberg.
"I was never anti-Jewish and I share with him a deep hatred against Nazi-Fascism and the genocide perpetrated against the Jewish people by Hitler and his followers," Castro was quoted by the local press as saying.
In his article to be published in The Atlantic magazine next month, Goldberg discussed the possibility of an Israeli strike against Iran's nuclear facilities in the coming months.
Castro made frequent public appearances in July and August, focusing his attention on international issues, especially on the threat of a nuclear war.
