5.0-magnitude quake hits Papua New Guinea

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted eastern New Guinea, Papua New Guinea at 0103 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 69.8 km, was initially determined to be at 5.736 degrees south latitude and 147.134 degrees east longitude, 114 km north of Lae, Papua New Guinea.
