At least 70 militants were killed and another 30 injured in a fresh offensive launched on Sunday by the Pakistani army in the country's northwest trial area, reported local media.
According to the reports, jet fighters were also employed in Sunday's operation, which bombarded a number of hideouts of militants in different areas of Upper Orakzai, a trial area which borders Afghanistan. At least six hideouts of militants in the region were reportedly destroyed.
During Sunday's operation launched by the military, four civilians including two women were also reportedly killed and another four injured when a rocket hit a house in Shamozai area of Upper Orakzai Agency.
