A Mexican military helicopter crashed in Durango state in northern Mexico Saturday, killing all 11 people on board, the Defence Department said in a statement.

The statement said bad weather was to blame for the Bell 412 crash Friday night.

The military staff on board were assigned to the region for fight against drug cartels.
