Indonesia has joined the worldwide condemnation following the Monday raid of the Israeli troop on a humanitarian mission ship for Palestine.
The attack has killed over 10 people and injured about 30, including two Indonesian volunteers who were seriously wounded. Ten others were also detained by the Israeli troops.
Indonesia said it was disappointed with the incident and pushed the United Nations to conduct a thorough investigation over the brutality of the Israeli troops and to issue a resolution on the tragedy, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on Wednesday.
The statement has been sent to the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki Moon, the UN Security Council, and the UN General Assembly, he said.
Besides, at the regional level, during a meeting of ASEAN ministers on June 1, Indonesia along with other countries also pushed the United Nations to take immediate step, said Yudhoyono.
Indonesia also said it plans to build a hospital in Gaza to help reducing the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Indonesia has no diplomatic relation with Israeli and has long supported the struggle of the Palestinian people.
