The death toll from Friday's train collision in eastern India has risen to 95 as rescue workers continued to extricate bodies from mangled coaches of the train Saturday, according to the Indo-Asian News Service.
The news service quoted police as reporting 167 people have "varied degrees of injuries" from the train collision which took place early Friday after a derailed passenger train was hit by a goods train in West Bengal, allegedly due to sabotage by extreme left-wing Naxal rebels.
Police said the toll is likely to cross 110 as more bodies are expected to be found in the smashed coaches.
