The Thai government declared on Wednesday success in the army's operation against red-shirts protestors, while one of the protestors' core leaders vowed to fight on.

A Thai government spokesman also said some of red-shirted leaders had fled the protest site.

However, one of the red-shirtd core leaders, Nutthawut Saikua, appeared at the center stage of the rally site Ratchaprason before noon, saying he has not fled and will go on fighting there.
