Thai protesters urged to leave rally site by 15:00, Monday

Thai government called on the anti-government protesters to leave the rally site in central Bangkok by 15:00 hours, Monday or face jail terms.

The Center for Resolution of Emergency Situation (CRES) made the ultimatum on a television program, after it assigned police Sunday to persuade the red-shirt protesters to leave the rally site by 15:00 hours on Monday.

The rally site is now the dangerous zone, the CRES added.
The red-shirt protesters have been camped out at the Rathchaprason Intersection, a central Bangkok commercial district, since early April.
The main rally site was cordoned off on Thursday night prompting clashes between government troops and protesters and leaving at least 35 people dead.
The demonstrators have vowed to continue the protest which has lasted for over two months until prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva stepped down.
