Visiting ousted Honduran president Manuel Zelaya met here with Cuban leader Raul Castro, as part of his Latin American tour denouncing the deterioration of democracy in his homeland, the official daily Granma reported on Saturday.
Granma did not release details on the meeting or the topics discussed between the two politicians.
According to the report, Zelaya was accompanied by his daughter Xiomara. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez attended the meeting.
Zelaya earlier visited Managua, where he met with President Daniel Ortega and suggested a "reconciliation plan for Honduras" including the recognition of Honduran President Porfirio Lobo, Granma said.
Zelaya was overthrown on June 28, 2009. So far the Cuban government has not recognized the presidency of Porfirio Lobo, who was elected during the De Facto government headed by Roberto Micheletti.
The ousted Honduran president lives in the Dominican Republic as a "guest" of the local government since Lobo took office on January 27.
