Moscow city authority has planned to allocate about 45 million rubles (about 15 million U.S. dollars) to ensure blue sky on the May 9 Victory Day, city officials said.
Before May 9, ten aircraft including AN-12, AN-26 and Il-18 would fly to disperse clouds in the sky, so as to ensure a sunny day for the Victory Day Parade.
A total of 25 tons of carbon particles and 1,200 liters of liquid nitrogen would be used, according to estimates.
It is reported that Moscow has planned three cloud-disperse operations this year, respectively on the Victory Day on May 9, the Russian Independent Day on June 12, and the City Day on Sept. 5.
