Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), left Pyongyang for a visit to China on Thursday.

According to the source, Kim Yong Nam will attend the opening ceremony of the Shanghai World Expo 2010. During his two-day visit to China, he will also meet with Chinese leaders.

Yang Hyong Sop, vice president of the Presidium of the SPA, saw Kim Yong Nam off at the Pyongyang airport.

The DPRK top legislator is scheduled to return home on Saturday.
