Third explosion rocks Kandahar the birthplace of Taliban militants in south Afghanistan on Monday, police said.
"The third explosion took place inside a garden outside the provincial capital Kandahar city but fortunately caused no loss of life," deputy to Provincial Police Chief Assadullah Shirzad told Xinhua.
Hours ago two more explosions shocked Kandahar city leaving two civilians dead and wounding another, Shirzad stressed.
One of the bombs was planted in a motorbike; while the other was planted under garbage ten meters away from the first bomb, he added.
Afghan Police and U.S. forces have condoned off the explosion sites, a Xinhua reporter at the site said. One police vehicle was also damaged in the blast.
Locals said Shirzad might have been the target of the attack, since the bombs were placed in the road which he passes by every day.
No one has claimed responsibility for the incidents so far.
Kandahar, a former stronghold of Taliban militants has been the scene of increasing insurgency over the past five years. Afghan and NATO-led troops are preparing to launch a major offensive against militants there, possibly in next June.
